Andy Hawthorne Bio
Andy Hawthorne is Manchester born and bred and heads up The Message Trust which over the last fifteen years has seen thousands of young people reached and kept for Christ in their city and beyond. The Message Trust is an award-winning youth charity, with a well established reputation for being a pioneering organisation with a real passion to improve the lives of young people in Greater Manchester. Driven by Christian values, they help all sorts of young people from all sorts of backgrounds and with all sorts of beliefs.

The vision spawned a number of different related initiatives: the beginning and the growth of The World Wide Message Tribe, EDEN and Genetik projects in Manchester.

Andy Hawthorne is one of the founders of ‘Hope’ alongside Mike Pilavachi (Soul Survivor) and Roy Crowne (YFC). Churches across the United Kingdom are constantly at work serving and communicating with 58 Million residents and many visitors to the United Kingdom. 'Hope' proposes to support this work, by facilitating intensified, united, focused prayer and a year of activities, communicating the Gospel through words and actions, creating a lasting legacy of both physical and spiritual change in the lives of communities and individuals.

Matt Wilson Bio
Matt Wilson is the Executive Director of Mission at The Message Trust in Manchester. Matt has been with The Message for many years. They have been working in the city for 15 years and have developed a 'knack' for being able to get through to the hardest to reach young people. To enable this they operate a range of projects on the streets, in the community, in schools and in prisons, all with the aim of bringing hope, providing opportunities and releasing potential.

The Message runs 9 ‘Eden’ youth projects where over 100 volunteers live and work in tough urban contexts. They are in contact with an average of 5.000 young people every month all over the city. They provide a safe 'off the street' environment for 500 young people every week using 2 high-tech mobile youth centres. In all these ways and many more they demonstrate the values they believe in: hope, faith, love, compassion, encouragement, creativity and opportunity.

Matt has the privilege of serving and encouraging the amazing people who form the Eden teams. He is a great communicator and is regularly inviting to speak at different churches and events. Matt is also the Editor for UCB’s Word 4U 2Day.
