Terl BryantTerl Bryant Bio

Terl Bryant is an inspirational teacher, producer, drummer and percussionist. Terl is the Founder and Director of Psalm Drummers which over the past ten years has developed into an International Movement which sees drummers gathering together to worship God. Psalm Drummers is a network of Christian drummers and percussionists that serve the church and the drumming community by hosting events, workshops and offering inspirational teaching resources. Their core values are rooted in the Christian Faith and God’s Word, the Bible.

“I believe God is restoring the drum to the Church (in praise and worship and more) and is calling drummers, both individually and corporately, to drum out a new beat - a beat that carries the heart and inspiration of the Holy Spirit. The purpose is to declare His presence. I have seen drumming to be a powerful voice for prayer and praise: it can unify the divided, encourage the disheartened, and stir up much needed courage within the Church in our times.” - Terl Bryant

In 2006 Survivor Books released ‘A Heart To Drum’ by Terl Bryant. 'There is almost nothing available beyond standard teaching methods for Christian drummers and percussionists to develop a Bible based understanding for their skills. Thirty years ago drums were very rare in any kind of church, nowadays thousands of churches in Britain and beyond have a drummer or percussionist playing in the worship team. A Heart to Drum is a timely resource which aims to bring the drummer/percussionist into a true biblical understanding for their gift'.

In 2007 Terl and the Psalm Drummers released ‘Rhythms Of Fire’ on Survivor’s One Voice label. Terl has gathered guests such as Tim Hughes, Archbishop John Sentamu, Noel Robinson, Bazil Meade and Mal Pope to sing and pray over tracks recorded in different nations. One track is called Mumbai Joy, which was recorded in India while on tour with Matt Redman. This cross cultural collection displays indigenous rhythms with great melodies. The sound is original and organic.

Terl has played for many artists to include Matt Redman, IONA, John Paul Jones, Faith Hill, The Honeyz and many more. He travel with the Psalm Drummers serving the church and contributed to many events. They have been involved with: prayer meetings, healing and ministry, teaching, presenting workshops and have played at numerous worship and celebration events. These have included Soul Survivor, New Wine, The Call UK, Worship Together, Spring Harvest, BBC Songs of Praise, OneDay03 USA, March for Jesus, Bible Society events, Cross Rhythms Festival, Alpha conferences, Cornerstone Festival USA, Greenbelt Festival, UK, Theology Through The Arts with Bishop John Sentamu and Revd. Dr. Jeremy Begbie. Terl and friends have been on missions to the USA, Czech Republic, Holland, Switzerland, Africa and India, and at home have taken teams out on the streets and into nightclubs. They have also been recorded on a number of worship albums.
