Chris Bowater

Born during a time sociologists have called `The Bulge’, Chris has sought to serve & represent his generation in keeping with the spirit of such a description!

After qualification he taught in both suburban & inner city schools in the Midlands and in 1974 moved to Lincoln UK as a career promotion to be Director of Music at Yarborough High School.

Midway through this decade a very special move of the Holy Spirit birthed a ministry in Worship that continues to this time. Chris served as Director of Music at the church in Lincoln UK from 1980, full time from 1983. The Lincoln School of Creative Ministries hosted several hundred delegates from all denominations and many nationalities.

Due to the increase of ministry and travel, Chris relinquished the staff team position in 1998. He has been involved in pioneering worship conferences in several nations and still travels to Europe, Asia & North America. His work in Britain has led him to be at Spring Harvest, Kingdom Faith, Life in the Spirit & many national conferences. Since its commencement in 1980/81 Chris has served Stuart Bell & the Ground Level Network of churches at the Grapevine Celebration. His ministry touches and is effective in all denominations.

The songs that Chris has written are in scores of languages. He has featured on many albums and written two books on worship.

Chris is the co-founder of an international worship school - The Worship Academy.

The past 30 years has seen an amazing growth in worship & praise ministries throughout the world. We are living in days of greater awareness and release of Praise and worship across the Christian denominations. As the church becomes renewed & refreshed by the work of the Holy Spirit, so the church rises in greater & deeper adoration of Jesus Christ, and confesses Him as Lord of all.

This new initiative seeks to serve the local church by encouraging & strengthening local church ministries. The work & ministry of worship-resource.com will at all times be monitored by senior church leaders - a council of reference will be posted at the launch.
30 years ago the struggle was for the territory of praise and worship. Today, though this may still be the case in some instances, the struggle is more for the maintaining of the purity of praise and worship. Chris Bowater - Vision Director.
